NEW LEADERSHIP FOR HEYWOOD IN BLOOM IN 2025

After many years as Chair of Heywood in Bloom, Ellen Yates has handed the reins over to Iain Donaldson, an experienced allotment gardener and community activist.

Iain stated that "Ellen has truly set a wonderful standard during her time as Chair, and we have a lot of work to do to keep up the standard she has set. We have a few projects that are ongoing all year round, and look forward to welcoming new members."

"This year will be about consolidating the work that Ellen and the team have done in the last few years, updating our admin, and moving to a more sustainable programme of planting to ensure that we can attract wildlife and make Heywood a pleasant place to work all year round."

Heywood in Bloom is a voluntary organisation and relies on local people to bring colour and vibrance to our community. If you can spare an hour or so from time to time then please visit our volunteer page and sign up to help us.

We, and our partners have regular activites going on in and around Heywood. To find out more visit our Calendar page.

Heywood in Bloom 2025

In 2025 we are working to consolidate our projects, improve the links with our partners, and to build on 14 years of success in preparation for our 15th Anniversary in 2026.

This year the judging for Heywood in Bloom will take place on 17th and 19th June, and with the shift to more sustainable planting our small team of volunteers are working hard to get things ready in time. If you see us out and about in the town centre then please say hello, and if you can lend a hand then please let us know either by filling in the volunteer form here on our website or by joining our Heywood in Bloom 2025 Facebook Group.

Whilst our focus right now is on preparing for the judging, there is a lot more work we will need to do this engaging with communities and businesses across Heywood and building our team of volunteers to improve Heywood all year round, and prepare for our 15th Anniversary next year.

You can  see many of both our events and events organised by our partners here on our Calendar, please come and join us in helping improve the environment of Heywood through horticulture, floriculture, and craft.

We look forward to working with you.
