Ice Cream in the Park

Yesterday I went to the opening of the Cabin in Hopwood park where I was able to enjoy an ice cream and had the opportunity to chat with Sandra Tricket, Chair of the Friends of Hopwood Park.

A friendly reception and a delicious ice cream, served by Sandra at the Cabin in Hopwood Park.

Sandra explained that the Friends of Hopwood Park have been running the cabin in the park for over ten years.

It provides a service to the community who use the park, but it also provides a first step on the employment ladder for some young people in Hopwood who get the chance to work there and learn some of the skills needed for working in customer service.

This is an excellent community service run by a dedicated parks group and deserves our support.

I would just add that the ice cream comes from a local farm and is excellent.
